Caught for using too many broccoli emojis in an IG Story, I got slapped with a dreaded warning: āContent is not eligible for recommendation.ā Meaning IG would not show my content to anyone outside of my followers for an unknown length of time. ā ļøĀ
Itās no secret that Instagram and TikTok are not friendly to cannabis creators. Posting anything blatant about weed can get accounts shadow-banned or shut down. AI scans posts and automatically removes them citing that āyour content goes against our guidelines on sale of illegal or regulated goods.ā Retrieving a lost account can be impossible, costly, or devastating as your community and work are gone in a moment. Itās extremely challenging when you donāt know the rules and theyāre subject to change, without warning.Ā Ā Ā
I could have been mad at Meta. Angry at the unfairness of it all. Censorship! Free the plant, Iād cry! But yes, admittedly, I did use a lot of broccoli emojis to cover up the cannabis symbol on products in an unboxing video. I could choose to stew in my anger, or I could choose to make the best of the situation and do something of value for my community.Ā
I started posting videos from #theFFtreehouse with music from āMother Earthās Plantasia.ā Unfiltered content created for and seen only by my followers, most of whom are new and recently discovered me through my viral stash table video. (hello + welcome!) I figured, why not make this more like a private club than social media purgatory, so letās have some fun!Ā

Confessions of an aging millennial
Speaking of fun... I was flipping through everyoneās Coachella content and grateful as f*** to be sitting at home in my hammock. Maybe Iām a homebody, but the idea of being outside in the hot dusty air surrounded by sweaty people in tiny clothes listening to loud music feels too overwhelming and energy-draining. Maybe Iām just an old grouch.Ā
If Iām going to invest in an experience Iām looking for travel, nature, and connection, preferably with cannabis, in a way that recharges my energy.Ā Ā
I recently met Holly Teegarden, host of MoodRXtreats luxury wellness retreats for womxn who love cannabis and want to meet and connect with other like-minded rad womxn in a judgment-free space. Not only is Holly a badass who owns an apparel line AND a CBD wellness boutique, her retreat itinerary is like a dream. Featuring meals cooked by an in-house chef, and a cannabis bar stocked with flower, edibles, pre-rolls, and tinctures. Thereās outdoor activities including yoga, paddle boarding, and kayaking; and dedicated mind exploration activities like reiki and personalized human design chart analysis. Plus, a hot tub, fireplace, and game and movie night. Itās like adult summer campā¦ with lots of weed and none of the drama!Ā Ā
Yes. Yes to this! Sign me up. Who wants to come? There are three destination experiences this year in Hopkins, Michigan in June, Coxsackie, New York in August, and Ellicottville, New York in October.
Holly hooked us up with 15% off when you book with promo code āFRUITANDFLOWER.ā More info at moodrxtreats.com and @themoodrxtreats.
Ask Me AnythingĀ
Some highlights from the IG āAsk Me Anythingā session.Ā
Q: How do you describe the feeling of being š„Æbageledš„? - @fierce_flawless
A: When it's a beautiful whole plant solventless high, "like a piece of seaweed floating in the ocean"
Q: Whatās your favorite strain for productivity? ššŖ“šš§ - @fowlfamilyfarmĀ
A: When I need a productivity boost, I'll for the caffeine and šŖ“ combo. Cup of coffee or tea and just a little bit of an uplifting sativa leaning strain with limonene and/or caryophyllene aromas. But everyone is different so you just gotta try and see what works for you.
Q: When you got lit for the first time where were you? Doing what? - @warrenbobrow
A: In high school, at a friend's house party. Had a giant b0Åg r1p and proceeded to puke for several hours. I didn't touch it again for over a decade.
šø Warren Bobrow is mixologist, chef, and writer known as the Cocktail Whisperer. Creator of Klaus, a ginger mule THC cocktail in a can, and author of āCannabis Cocktails, Mocktails & Tonics: The Art of Spirited Drinks and Buzz-Worthy Libationsā
Q: When do you become an influencer? - @bendalboi
A: When I realized that I had something important and of value to share and say. To teach people how to cook and bake with šāā¬š±. And how to appreciate it in the same way you love and care about your food.Ā
Q: What is your favorite strain?!!! - @franzvalenzuela
A: Donny Burger from @solspiritfarm from Northern California, I was on š and I swear it smells and tastes like a hamburger with onions. Others have disagreed with me. š Whatever, I like it! It's more fun this way.
@solspiritfarm: bringing that Donny Burger back this season š
š Sol Spirit Farm is a regenerative, sun-grown, Sun + Earth Certified cannabis farm in the heart of the Emerald Triangle. Stay on the farm for a luxury bud & breakfast glamping experience.
Q: Do you use any special appliances to infuse or decarb? - @thefairybudmother
A: I usually reach for the Ardent because it's efficient and easy to clean. But if I didn't have one, I'd use a mason jar in the oven for both decarb + infusing.
Q: Why do I get paranoid now when I smoke take edibles? It used to be a fun experience, now itās challenging. - @defuseĀ
A: I think it's because we are under more stress and pressure, and feeling more anxiety without a release valve. šŖ“ tends to magnify what you're already feeling. @thecannabiscutie says that you need to consume with intent, and ask the plant for how you want it to help you feel. Maybe it's woo-woo, but mindfulness and breathing is good practice anyway. š¤·š»āāļø
Q: If you were bringing dessert to a dinner partyā¦ What would you make? - @toniinla
A: A nasturtium citrus olive oil cake
Q: What's your favourite munchie snack to make? What's your fastest? - @sisuunicorn
A: Cold crunchy grapes are the BEST! Healthy and easy. But if I'm hungry and cooking: Spicy Chili ramen with an egg on top, with green onions and soy sauce + black vinegar + XO sauce.
Q: How did you get into creating edibles? - @bendalboi
A: I talk about this in Episode 2 of my podcast! š§ short version: I love to bake and learned how infuse. I noticed they weren't many beautiful infused desserts on IG. It was mostly pot brownies. So I started making beautiful, inspired, infused desserts and writing recipes.

Spring Garden Tour
Take a tour of my spring garden to see whatās growing, and meet the chickens. Dude the rooster attempts to fight my shoe as I collect eggs.
Nasturtiums: leaves, flowers, and seed pods are edible. Slight sweet, peppery flavor. Easy to grow in full sun.
Rose Geraniums: edible flowers that smell like roses. Easy to grow and propagate.
California Poppies: a native plant and Californiaās state flower, the petals are edible. All parts of the plant have been used for their sedative and mild psychoactive effects to promote relaxation, reduce pain, and enhance sleep. Toss seeds in February before it rains, and enjoy the superbloom come March/April.
Desert Globemallow: a CA native, drought-tolerant plant with beautiful flowers. The flowers are edible but not flavorful.
Rock Roses: another drought-tolerant CA native plant, the leaves and flowers promote calm and relaxation. Used as a tea to treat panic, stress, anxiety.
Elegant Clarkia: a CA wildflower with beautiful jewel-colored pink blooms that are excellent as cut flowers. This is my first year growing them!
Lemon Verbena: an aromatic sweet lemon scented shrub thatās delicious in teas, seasonings, and desserts. Heat tolerant, hearty, and easy to grow. Used for a variety of health benefits including indigestion, gas, relaxation, respiratory congestion, and so much more.
Rosemary: this plant grows like a weed in southern California and is a staple in my kitchen. This common herb has antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties.
Chocolate Mint: a variety of mint that smells like mint chocolate ice cream and is a cultivar cross from peppermint.
Learn more about California native plants from the Theodore Payne Foundation, a non-profit that promotes native California plants for sustainable, healthy communities. They have a 22-acre canyon nursery where you can buy native plants and seeds. Thereās a wildflower trail with million dollar views that is worth the hike.
Secret Sesh Spot
Let me show you a spot. Over the hill and through a hidden trail covered in bright yellow wild mustard flowers is my secret sesh spot. The building # next to the hidden trail is 420. Too obvious?Ā
Wanted to give a shoutout and thank you to this weekās newsletter sponsor MoodRXtreats. I get DMs from people commenting about how they wish they had a group of fun cannabis friends to hang out with. Or how they wish they could freely enjoy cannabis with their other mom friends but they prefer to drink wine instead.Ā
Itās REALLY hard making friends as we get older. Itās easy to stay in our comfort zone and retreat into the familiar. Know that there are people who feel the same way and would meet a friend like you. Events and experiences like my Mogu Magu events and Hollyās MoodRXtreats provide a safe place for people to enjoy cannabis, camaraderieā¦ and sāmores!
Go ahead, get out there, and make new buds.Ā
XOXO, Christina W.
