You can drink your weed? What a wonderful time to be alive!

As someone who doesn’t do well with alcohol – I lack the enzyme to break down alcohol and get the Asian glow – cannabis-infused drinks are more my speed. (I’ll tell you the story of how I blackout and barf after two drinks another time.)

My fridge is now stocked with low-dose cannabis beverages that are 5mg THC or less per can, in addition to beer and wine. There’s also cannabis-infused tea, coffee, kombucha, honey, powdered drink mixes, soft drinks, beer and wine.

Keep reading and let me show you how to choose and enjoy cannabis drinks that fit your lifestyle.

YOU SHOULD KNOW: The Difference Between Eating/Drinking vs. Smoking/Inhaling Cannabis

*Note: I don’t drink all of this on the same day. That would be too much. The effects from a drink typically lasts 4-6 hours. I’ll only have one or two throughout the day depending on how I feel and the occasion.

MORNING

I start my morning with cannabis coffee or tea when I feel like I could use an energy boost. The combination of caffeine and cannabis makes me feel more focused and productive, but not overly high for the rest of the day. THC mellows out the jitteriness of caffeine, while the caffeine gives the energy boost. Both THC and caffeine trigger the release of dopamine in our brains. For beginners, start low and drink only one cup with 5mg or less of THC per cup. Enjoy responsibly.
