5.5 million-sq.-ft. and 750,000 plants inside Glass House Farms, the world’s largest 🌿 cultivation
My life as a c*nn*bis creator has given me access to unreal experiences, many of which I share here on F+F Unfurled. When I got an invitation to tour the world’s largest c*nn*bis cultivation in Camarillo, California it was an immediate “hell yes.”
Hell yes, I want to see a high-tech c*nn*bis greenhouse grow co-founded by a former Los Angeles area police officer that harvests more pounds in a single quarter than all of Humboldt County combined. Glass House Brands produces more than 600,000 pounds of w**d a year and reported $33.4 million gross profit, despite the CA c*nn*bis economy crashing. Accused of greenwashing, labor violations, and other illicit activities, the company has received its fair share of criticism and shade from competitors and industry tongue-waggers.
Glass House Brands has a line of Glass House flower, owns Plus edibles, multiple retail stores in California, and has multiple vertically integrated cultivation facilities. They’ve been called the “Walmart of w**d” but they DGAF. People talk shit and throw lawsuits, but their Q3 2024 “record-setting results” show that they’re good at the w**d business.

My heart and passion is with small craft c*nn*bis farmers. I’ve spent quality time in Northern California visiting w**d farms, listening to farmers’ greatest joys and worries, and witnessing a near extinction of Emerald Triangle craft sungrown c*nn*bis. I work at an award-winning dispensary where I see what people are purchasing and why. I advocate for the 1% sungrown, organic craft c*nn*bis because it would be a shame for that to disappear.
My biggest takeaway from this tour
Every aspect of the plant’s journey from clone to bud is measured, monitored, controlled, and automated for optimized yield, quality, and production. I haven’t visited a c*nn*bis grow at scale like this before and I’m grateful for the opportunity to see this high-tech greenhouse up-close and first-hand.
Standing in a sea of glass and green as far as the eye can see was certainly breathtaking, but how does it compare to the best w**d in the Emerald Triangle?

Inside Glass House Farms
After a few joints at the their LA office studio, 14 other c*nn*bis-friendly creators and I boarded a luxury party bus for the 1+ hour drive from Los Angeles to the former Houweling tomato farm in Camarillo. When we arrived at the farm we were in high spirits. Thank you Glass House for the five-star hospitality, loud-ass lunch, and free-flowing snacks and drinks.
This is a greenhouse cultivation. Not quite sun-grown, not quite indoor. Growing in a greenhouse is the best of both worlds that offers year-round control and consistency with natural light. Glass House is converting a former tomato and cucumber farm into a high-tech c*nn*bis grow.
