Microdosing: Does It Work?
Finding Your Dosing Sweet Spot
Low-Dose Cannabis Products to Try
After reflecting on last week’s Vol. 2 accidental macrodose mushroom experience, I realize that my difficulties asking for help, avoidance of being needy, and inability to trust those closest to me is called counter-dependence. To answer my mom’s question, “Do you think you’ll be able to open yourself to trust and love someone again?” The honest, sad answer is: No, not truly and completely in a fulfilling, intimate, and satisfying way until I work through it and change my behavior.
Thanks, mushrooms.
My experiences with macro and microdoses of cannabis and mushrooms have helped me connect the dots and find clarity. However, let’s be clear, these psychoactive plants don’t solve my issues and are in no way a replacement for therapy but they have opened me up to be more emotionally self-aware and willing to work on myself.
While the answer to my mom’s question is a sad revelation, it is also a gift because now I can acknowledge, heal and move forward to love fully.
So… the big question. Does microdosing cannabis and mushrooms work and how?
*Full disclosure that I am not a medical or mental health professional. I am simply writing about my own experiences backed by my knowledge and research on these topics to provide a fresh perspective and safe space to fruitfully explore. Everyone is different and responds differently to the plant medicines mentioned here. If you’re curious about these, please do your own research and consult a professional. Microdosing: Does It Work?
For clarity:
Microdosing is taking very low, sub perceptual doses of a psychedelic substance that reportedly may have beneficial effects.
Low-dose is taking a small amount of a substance in which you may notice mild effects.
Macrodose is taking a large amount that can feel intense, overwhelming, and have drastic cognitive, emotional and perceptual changes.
