I just returned from a weedy weekend getaway* in Sonoma and can’t wait to share my itinerary with you. I visited Sonoma Hills Farm, a craft cannabis farm and chefs garden run by a former French Laundry chef, and became best friends with their mini donkeys and a Polish hen named Linda.
Rachel Burkons @smokesipsavor and I hit the road again in part 2 of our Weed + Wine Country *catnipped* travel series. We met up with a few of our favorite women in weed for a Wake n Bake Farmer’s Market Walk and cheese tasting at a local creamery.
Here’s the itinerary of our recent two-day weekend in Sonoma for where to eat, drink, and weed.

✈️ Travel Itinerary: 48 Hours in Sebastopol + Santa Rosa
DAY 1
Santa Rosa
2pm: Arrive at Sonoma County Airport (STS) and pick up rental car for the weekend. Our ride is a sporty two-door Dodge Challenger that was a dream for zipping up and down the winding coastal highways.
3pm: Pick up a few weedy provisions from Jane’s Dispensary in Santa Rosa. We grabbed a bag of Fig Farms' solventless cookies ‘n cream chocolate edibles, Talking Trees preroll, Nasha Altitude preroll, a box of Tempo crackers, and a 20mg cannabis energy drink with Yerba Mate called Thunder Pop.
Sebastopol
4pm: Late lunch at The Lunch Box in Sebastopol for one of their drool-worthy burgers. The edible is kicking in just as the burger is placed in front of me. It’s juicy and perfect in every way, just as a burger should be.
After lunch, we popped into Luminarium, one of the cute shops next door along downtown Sebastapol, and serendipitously spotted a pair of hamburger earrings. I MUST have them!
Taste Test + Review: The Fig Farms cookies ‘n cream High Flyin chocolate drops with “real Oreo chunks” had a lovely, strong weedy aroma to them but the chocolate itself was not on par with the quality of Fig Farms’ award-winning flower.
Maybe I just don’t like white chocolate but the overpowering sugary sweetness felt like it was trying to mask the solventless weedy flavor rather than celebrate and pair its flavor. The effects from the edible though are a 10/10. Would definitely eat again, but the chocolate quality isn’t enough for me to be a repeat buyer.
5:30pm: Check-in to Sonoma Coast Villa. We zip down Bodega highway towards the coast to check into our charming hotel for the weekend. There’s a fireplace in our rooms and fire pit outside with complimentary s’mores. Rachel and I look at each other with a devilish grin and pull out the bag of cookies n’ creme chocolate edibles to make *catnipped* s’mores.
7pm: Head back into Sebastopol to meetup with Elise McDonough, author of Bong Appetit and former High Times edibles writer. She rolls us a j with Esensia Farms Orange Creamsicle and takes on a stoney stroll through Florence Ave to see local artists Patrick Amiot and Brigitte Laurent’s delightfully quirky junk art statues.
Good and glassy-eyed, we enjoy a spectacular meal at Khoi Loi, a Thai pop-up restaurant that focuses on food inspired by travels in Northern Thailand and nearby Laos that earned a Bib Gourmand nod from the Michelin Guide.
What we ordered: Fried Chive Dumplings, Thai Fried Chicken, Pad Thai, Black Cod Grilled in Banana Leaf, Chopped Liberty Salad, Khom Loi Thai Tea, and a Soft Serve Sundae with everything.
DAY 2
10am: Head to Taylor Lane Organic Coffee at The Barlow for a morning coffee meetup with a few of our favorite women in weed. There’s a crisp chill in the air mixed with the warm sunshine that entices us to order the first pumpkin spice latte of the season.
11am: Morning wake n’ bake powered by coffee! We find an ivy-covered hidden spot behind the dumpster wall to share the Nasha Altitude hash-infused preroll in my pocket and box of Tempo Crackers. Now feeling floaty, like dancing on clouds, we walk to the farmer’s market at Sebastopol Town Square to peruse the produce and satisfy our munchies.
In a pack of slow-moving stoners, we ravaged the farmer’s market like hungry sloths. There were softball-sized samosas with a green chutney with cold creamy peach lassi; rye chocolate chip cookies and fudgy chocolate brownies from the bakery; yeasty loaves of warm, fresh-baked bread; and rows of big, juicy, ripe peaches.
1pm: Next up, a 12-course cheese tasting at Bohemian Creamery, one of Sonoma County’s most creative artisanal creameries. The quaint space has shaded picnic tables overlooking a sweeping view of the rolling hills and black and white spotted cows below. They offer tours and tastings on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11-5.
4pm: Head over to Sonoma Hills Farm, a craft cannabis farm and organic culinary garden, where we’re guests of Kiva for an event celebrating the launch of their Lost Farm collaboration. More on this epic dinner in a future post!
Highly Recommended: Sonoma Hills Farm is not open to the public but if in the area, swing through Bodega Bay and stop at Fishetarian for the best fish and chips, clam chowder, and fresh-shucked oysters around town. Sit and enjoy picnic table on the water and BYO cannabis infused beverage!
9pm: Get cozy by the crackling fireplace. This place is magical, we return to Sonoma Coast Villa to find homemade cookies and bags of seasoned Chex mix waiting for us.
DAY 3
Santa Rosa
10am: Swing by Avid for coffee and breakfast before heading back to the airport. I savor a fancy avocado toast with jammy egg and a London Fog latte.
11am: Visit Solful’s new shop in Santa Rosa to ogle the sun-grown flower selection and make friends with the budtenders. Shaka shows me a package of solventless rosin-infused Mango Lime Fruit Bites with THCV from Happy Chance, a chef-crafted and woman-owned company.
Taste Test + Review: F*cking amazing! Made with Medjool dates, pumpkin seeds, fruits, vegetables, and solventless rosin each tiny micro-dose-sized bite is 2.5mg THC. Like fruit leather meets granola, its chewy texture is a welcome healthy natural sugar alternative to the candy-like gummy options. I open the package and can smell a strong earthy, weedy aroma from the rosin.
Available in Mango Lime, Strawberry Turmeric, and Blueberry Cinnamon flavors, the bars are infused with Blue Dream and Skywalker OG rosin sourced from sun-grown farmers in Santa Barbara County.
Love the flavor, form factor, micro-dosing, and effects. They’re so tasty I want to keep eating more!
