Are you future-focused? Always looking forward to what’s next and forgetting to stop and smell the flowers? 🙋🏻♀️ Me. I’m guilty of this.
Often I get so hyper-focused on what’s next that I forget to look back and appreciate my accomplishments – no matter how big or small. Stop right now and give yourself a f*cking high-five, because you made it.
Let’s take a minute to slow down and hit the rewind button on your memories, and tell me…
What’s something awesome you accomplished this year?
Now go to the comments section and cheer on someone else who shared with a heart, a 🙌, or reply with a compliment! Spread positivity.

When I stop to rewind my own memories, 2023 was a wild, unexpected ride. From budtending at Cornerstone Wellness to re-launching The Clever Root, and joining Budist as an edibles expert to being an advisor on the Cannabis Media Council, plus two viral videos and a few shadowbans later… I’m still standing. 🙌
This is the last issue of 2023. I’m giving myself a much-needed break to recharge. See you in 2024 with a cannabis honey-infused baklava recipe.

Magu Magic! Salon + Photography Series
This year Wendy Zeng and I became obsessed with Magu, the Daoist hemp goddess of longevity, and reclaiming her story. (We’re recording a podcast episode about Magu with Great Moments in Weed History next month!)
Mogu Magu started to take shape with more intention this year as we explored intersectionality and collaborated with more co-hosts, which brought about a tremendous amount of reflection and growth.

Cheers to a fruitful new year!
